The Poncan Theatre presents: District Attorney Brian Hermanson

APRIL 19 - Showtime is 6:00PM

April 19-25, 2015 has been declared National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. This years’ theme is “Engaging Communities, Empowering Victims.” The theme this year is to emphasize engaging community leaders, organization’s and local partners so that we can help empower victims throughout the healing process and help victims to become survivors.
As a part of National Crime Victim’s Rights Week, District Attorney Brian Hermanson will host a free showing of the movie Heaven’s Rain on April 19, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at the Poncan Theatre located at 104 East Grand in Ponca City. Mr. Hermanson would like to invite the public to view this truly inspiring movie. The movie is intense and asks a very deep question, 'How do we forgive the unforgivable?'."
Heaven's Rain is the true story of Brooks Douglass’ family, whose lives were irrevocably changed one evening over 35 years ago. When Brooks Douglas was 16, two drifters, Glen Ake and Steven Hatch entered his family home, tied his parents and Brooks, and took Brooks’ 12 year old sister into the bedroom where both men raped her. The drifters then shot all four family members, killing the parents and leaving the two siblings for dead. Miraculously, Brooks and his sister survived. Brooks Douglas, after becoming an Oklahoma State Senator and authoring groundbreaking victims' rights legislation, is forced to move forward from his past.
The movie is a story of forgiveness as primarily viewed from the perspective of Brooks. Both Brooks and his sister have endured through the horror of the crime, have dealt with the emotional consequences, and eventually excel in their respective careers, he as a state legislator, businessman, producer and actor; she as a professional educator.
Please join the District Attorney Brian Hermanson on April 19, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. to view this inspiring story, and help to kick off a week set aside to recognize the plight that victims endure.

Carman Domenic Licciardello is an enigma in Christian music, often described as part evangelist, part Vegas Showman. His concerts were more like a rock and roll Billy Graham Crusade than a Christian music event. After all the singing, dancing, clapping and preaching, throngs of people would stream down to the counseling area to accept Christ-many times as many as 5,000 in an evening. Admission was usually free, a simple offering taken, similar to 30,000 churches on Sunday mornings. And he filled the largest stadiums the world over. In fact, Carman holds the record for the largest Christian concert ever in Dallas, Texas. But it even goes beyond that. If you take the Mega Stadium acts that played the famed landmark such as Pink Floyd, U 2, Madonna, The Jackson Five, Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks and even Metallic, you'll see that, as the newspapers noted, the one act that drew the highest attendance in Texas Stadium was Carman, with 71,132. This is more than just an A-list artist-this man is a Cultural Phenomenon.

The Poncan Theatre presents: Larry "ELVIS" Stillwell - Memories of ELVIS

APRIL 25 - Showtime is 7:30PM

Larry has been a fan of Elvis Presley since he was a small boy. He was so taken in by his voice, charisma, and style, that at the age of 12 Larry had already started developing his Elvis-like voice. Larry was a working man most of his life and never was able to pursue any type of music career until December 2005. It was at that time that Larry decided to take his talent to a professional level, and took on his first two hour Christmas concert. Since then Larry has literally done hundreds of shows ranging from casinos, clubs, and private and corporate events. Some of the corporations include business giants such as Mary Kay, Dr. Pepper, and JC Penney. Larry has performed at venues such as, Petroleum Club of Dallas and Ft Worth, Tower Club, Adolphus Hotel, Gaylord Texan, Swan Court, Choctaw Casino, and Winstar Casino, just to mention a few.

Larry continues work on his music every day, which may be why his audiences question whether he is really doing the singing. His fans have said that after the first couple of songs they forgot it wasn't Elvis. You won't believe your eyes and ears.

This is a show that you will not soon forget let Elvis Tribute Artist, Larry Stilwell, take you back in time for a taste of what it was like to be in concert with the king of rock n' roll Elvis Presley.
