The Poncan Theatre Presents: “High Stakes” the Life & Times of E.W. Marland

March 25th & 26th - Saturday @ 7:30PM & Sunday @ 2:00 PM - Tickets are $10 per person

For a brief period in history, E.W. Marland controlled 10 percent of the world's oil supply, oversaw a company with name recognition nationwide, and left his hometown Ponca City with a “palace on the prairie” that to this day remains a popular visitor destination.

David Keithly, director of the Marland Mansion, didn't want to discourage the creation of the film — but as the script for “The Ends of the Earth” went through several rewrites, he realized the movie would not tell the full Marland story.

“It's an unusual story,” Keithly said. “The people of Ponca City are very protective of the Marlands, and they want to make sure that if that story is told, it's told correctly.”
